Where UK weddings are heading: fewer guests, longer celebrations, sharper design and far more colour.
Booking patterns for 2027 are already visible in UK diaries, and the direction of travel is consistent: couples are spending the same money on fewer people, over more hours.
The two-day wedding becomes normal
A Friday welcome supper, a Saturday wedding and a Sunday brunch is now a mainstream request rather than a luxury one. It suits venues with accommodation, it spreads the pressure across the weekend, and it means guests travelling from across the country get more than six hours for their journey.
Colour returns
The all-white, all-neutral palette that dominated the early 2020s is giving way to saturated colour: deep clarets and rusts in autumn, buttercup and cobalt in high summer, and printed table linen instead of plain. Mismatched glassware, coloured candles and painted stationery are doing the heavy lifting in place of large floral installations.
Fewer guests, more hospitality
Average UK guest counts continue to drift down toward 60 to 90 for a full-day wedding. The saving goes straight back into food, drink and entertainment: better wine, a second serving of something late at night, live music instead of a playlist.
